The teams are loving the competitive atmosphere of MSSA.

Week 6 - 10 March 2017 saw 10 Ladder matches being played.

The 10 matches involved teams from 4 provinces which further re-inforces the effectiveness of esports as a fully accredited school sport.


At very little cost to the school, schools are able to compete against old (and new) rivals.


Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) thus takes gaming to the next level. 

eSports is an untapped area of scholar interest which enables participating scholars to access personal self-fulfillment as well as  the ability to train for careers. Already a number of universities offer bursaries and academic programmes to  gamers.

Thus although parents may have thought that all those hours their kids spent playing video games was wasted, but they have been training the next generation of athletes.
MSSA has sent teams with full Protea Colours to international events since 2005. Many members of the national teams have been scholars, and all have benefited from their involvement in the national Protea eSports Team.
